Your Smoking Cessation Session

Prior to your session you will receive our Smoking Cessation Program Materials via email. We ask you to participate fully in our program by first reading “Hypnosis for Smoking Cessation” “What Happens after You Quit,” What Type of Friend is Your Cigarette,” and Jeffrey Rose’s published article from Recover Magazine, “Smoking and Nicotine.” These materials will help educate you, the future permanent non-smoker, about the nature of smoking as a behavioral habit.

After reading these articles you must complete our online “Intake Form for the Future Former Smoker.” Completing our Intake Form not only helps prepare Mr. Rose for your smoking cessation session, but it will also be of great value to you. As you respond to these questions, you will get a better understanding of your relationship to your current habit and your motivation for ending it, and begin the process of change even before your appointment.

Prior to your smoking cessation session, you might will be given some behavioral suggestions aimed at disrupting the regular routine of your habit.  You may be asked to, for example, use of different hand for smoking than you normally do, while you are smoking, interrupt and introduce a delay before resuming smoking, place a restriction on the total number of cigarettes smoked daily, or even practice being a non-smoker.

Jeffrey Rose takes a holistic approach to helping you become a permanent non-smoker. Be prepared to make additional changes in your lifestyle including increased nutrients, exercise, sleep and hydration. Also, be ready to embark on a new healthier path in life by reducing other unhealthy substances that you are introducing into your body, such as, caffeine in both coffee and sodas, excessive alcohol, and refined sugars.

Upon your arrival, you will find a comfortable and professional office. (We provide special privacy arrangements for our celebrity clients if requested in advance.) Your smoking cessation session will start promptly, with little or no wait time.

Unlike some cold, authoritarian individuals, you may have interacted with in the medical profession in the past, you will find Jeffrey Rose to be a highly warm, compassionate person, a person with whom you will feel completely comfortable and confident. If you have any questions regarding hypnosis, Jeffrey will be glad to take the time to explain things to you, so that you are completely comfortable with the whole process.

Your smoking cessation session will last two hours and be divided into three parts. First, you will be interviewed by Mr. Rose, who will review with you your responses to the "Intake Form for the Future Former Smoker"and gather other pertinent information. This will enable him to use his clinical flexibility to tailor the hypnosis session to your particular personality, lifestyle and motivation. Mr. Rose will also thoroughly inform you about hypnosis.

Following this interview, you will view a Stop Smoking Video, which will both educate you to the true nature of the smoking habit, and create the necessary conditions for easy and effective change.

In the last part of your Smoking Cessation Session, you will be gently guided into a relaxing trance. While in this state, you can come out of it anytime you wish to resume regular consciousness, but you will find that you want to stay in this stress-free, peaceful state. You will hear what Mr. Rose is saying and can accept or reject any of the positive suggestions he will be making to you. With his empathetic guidance you will make valuable changes and emerge from your trance as a permanent non-smoker.

For selected cases, Jeffrey Rose will make post-session follow–up calls. In addition, as an integral adjuvant to your hypnosis session, Mr. Rose, CMH and his staff will be available by phone post-session if there are any further issues you wish to discuss.

After your session Jeffrey will send you his “Articles for the New Non-Smoker” and some of his published health and fitness articles to further guide you to live a healthier life. Mr. Rose will personally send you congratulatory e-mails every week for three weeks and every month for three months to help you fully appreciate your accomplishment in becoming a permanent non-smoker.

The dynamics of our Smoking Cessation Program recognizes the complexity of being a habitual smoker, and approaches the treatment from many perspectives, rather than from one point of view. Our method obviates the need for any further ongoing use of medications or nicotine withdrawal regimes that may have previously been utilized. It can additionally be noted that hypnosis is medically non-invasive and there are no contraindications.
